Allianz Insurance Singapore (AIS) has expanded its pioneering role in autonomous vehicle (AV) insurance by providing coverage for the upcoming Ai.R autonomous shuttle service in Punggol, which is operated by Grab in partnership with WeRide. This development builds upon AIS's breakthrough as the first insurer in Singapore to cover a fully driverless autonomous vehicle back in July 2025, WeRide's Robobus, which has since completed thousands of trips and safely transported tens of thousands of passengers without incident.
With the backing of Allianz's global expertise as a leading motor insurer, Allianz Insurance Singapore has become a trusted partner in the industry, reinforcing their commitment to innovation and leadership in autonomous vehicle insurance.

The trust and expertise that the Allianz team has developed through their initial partnership with WeRide have enabled them to extend their support to Grab and WeRide’s collaboration to bring autonomous shuttle services to commuters in Punggol.
The AIS team have developed specialised insurance frameworks that meets the needs of the AV industry, considering factors from operating conditions to AI decision-making systems.
