- Certain benefits such as Alternative Accommodation, Window/Door replacement, Home Contracting works and Emergency Cash Allowance do not have an excess. The excess is S$250 for each claim arising from household removal; S$200 or 5% (whichever is greater) for each claim arising from water damage; S$10,000 or 10% of the loss (whichever is greater) for each claim arising from landslip or subsidence. The excess for all other claims is S$100.
- The insured premise contains no illegal structure and is located in the Republic of Singapore.
- The insured premise must be for residential use. No industrial or commercial buildings will be covered.
- Proposers and their families must comply with all statutory obligations and take reasonable steps to prevent loss or damage; to maintain any premises to be insured in good condition and sound repair; and to fulfill the requirement of the deed of mutual covenant, any other relevant regulation or statutory instruments relating to the premises or buildings to be insured.

Allianz Home Protect is a home insurance plan offered by Allianz Insurance Singapore. It protects your home contents (furniture, appliances, personal belongings) and renovations against damage from fire, theft, water leaks, and other covered events. The policy also includes worldwide personal liability coverage and optional add-ons for accidental damage protection and coverage for belongings taken overseas.
HDB fire insurance and mortgage fire insurance (required by banks) only covers the building structure—walls, floors, and permanent fixtures. They don't cover your furniture, appliances, electronics, renovations, or personal belongings. Allianz Home Protect fills this gap by protecting everything inside your home, plus your renovations and improvements. If you've spent money on built-in wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, or flooring, you need home contents insurance to protect that investment.
Anyone can purchase Allianz Home Protect as long as the property is located in Singapore. This includes homeowners (HDB, condo, landed), tenants renting a property, and foreigners. Tenants can insure their own belongings and any renovations they've made to the rental unit. The policy covers belongings of all family members normally living with you.
Allianz Home Protect covers your home contents and renovations against:
- Fire, lightning, and explosion
- Water damage from burst pipes or tank overflow
- Theft and burglary (with signs of forced entry)
- Flood, storm, and earthquake
- Riot, strike, and malicious damage
- Impact by vehicles
- Smoke damage
Additional benefits included: Alternative accommodation if your home becomes uninhabitable, emergency cash allowance, window/door replacement after break-in, domestic helper's belongings, and accidental damage to fixed glass and mirrors.
Yes. Allianz Home Protect covers damage to your contents and renovations caused by water escaping from tanks, pipes, or appliances. This includes damage from burst pipes, overflowing tanks, and leaking water heaters. There's an excess of S$200 or 5% of the loss (whichever is greater) for water damage claims. Damage caused by gradual leaks that you were aware of but didn't fix is not covered.
Yes. Under Allianz Home Protect, theft is covered if there's evidence of forcible entry into your home. The policy also covers the cost of replacing doors, locks, and windows damaged during a break-in. However, theft is not covered if your home has been unoccupied for more than 90 consecutive days, or if items are stolen by family members or domestic helpers (helper dishonesty is covered under a separate benefit up to a specified limit).
Premiums depend on the sum insured (value of your contents and renovations) and any optional add-ons you choose. Most claims have an excess of S$100, except for water damage (S$200 or 5% of loss, household removal (S$250), and landslip & subsidence (S$10,000 or 10% of loss). Some benefits like alternative accommodation and emergency cash have no excess.
Allianz Home Protect offers three optional add-ons:
- Home Appliance Accidental Protection — Covers accidental damage to kitchen appliances (fridge, dishwasher, cooker), home appliances (TV, aircon, washer), and personal devices (laptop, tablet)
- Worldwide All Risks — Covers loss or damage to personal belongings anywhere in the world, including jewellery, electronics, and valuables. Useful for items you carry when travelling.
- All Risks Home Contents and Renovations — Upgrades your policy to cover accidental damage (not just named perils) to contents and renovations inside your home. Also allows you to add Building coverage up to S$500,000 or S$1,000,000.
- Report the incident — For theft, file a police report immediately

Important: You must notify Allianz within 60 days of the loss or damage. Keep damaged items for inspection if possible.
