Marine Claims

To make a claim on your Marine Insurance Policy, please contact the insurance broker or agent stated in your policy. If possible, have your policy number available when you call. Your broker or agent will contact us on your behalf to arrange for a survey if necessary.

 

If you are unable to contact your insurance broker, please contact Allianz for advice.

Marine Cargo

 

Please submit the following if you wish to file a Marine Cargo claim.

 

  • A detailed description of the circumstances of the loss.
  • Original Certificate of Marine Insurance.
  • Photographs of the cargo showing its full extent of damaged condition.
  • Commercial invoice.
  • Packing list.
  • Bill of Lading / Air Waybill.
  • Terms and conditions of carriage contract (usually found on the reverse side of B/L or AWB).
  • Delivery note (for signing receipt of the cargo from the forwarder).
  • Survey report (by surveyor indicated in the Certificate of Marine Insurance).
  • Load port survey quantity / quality survey reports and discharge port quantity and quality survey reports (for bulk cargo).
  • Your protest letter or claim letter written to the Master / carrier / forwarder (to be written immediately or within 3 days of receipt of cargo).
  • The carrier's / forwarder's reply (when available).
  • Your claim bill.
  • Any other relevant documents, as may be required.

 

In addition, please ensure that the relevant government body is also notified, as appropriate.

 

 

Yachtsafe

 

Please submit the following if you wish to file a claim under your YachtSafe policy.

 

  • Complete the Pleasure Craft Accident Report Form.
  • Copy of the police report and the Maritime Port Authority (MPA) report, if applicable.
  • Copy of MPA pleasure craft driving license and identity card of the skipper and crew.
  • Crew list and their sea-going experience.
  • Copy of MPA craft registration and licensing documents.
  • Photographs showing the full extent of the damage to the craft.
  • Copy of the craft's Bill of Sale, and repair estimate.
  • Any other relevant documents, as may be required.

 

In addition, please ensure that the relevant government body is also notified, as appropriate.
